What Dentist's don't tell you
1. Dentists often choose different treatment for themselves than they offer to you
If a tooth is broken it can be patched or fixed permanently with a crown. Most dentists, for themselves, choose the crown. They know it looks better, feels better and will last. To replace a missing tooth, dentists choose implants or bridges for themselves, yet for their clients they often suggest false teeth. Why? Many dentists are guilty of the curse of assumption. They assume people can’t afford quality treatment. We make sure you get all the alternatives before you decide.
2. Dentists seldom get holes
Choose a dentist who shows you how to stop tooth decay and gum disease. Dentists rarely get holes in their teeth because they know how to look after teeth properly. It only requires 2 1/2 minutes per day, plus a simple change to your diet. Make sure you read all about caries free to find out one of the most important ways to eliminate tooth decay
3. Dentistry isn’t expensive - neglect is
Waiting until it hurts is a pain in the wallet. Sure a normal filling costs money. If you put it off until the tooth hurts then the nerve is involved, which means a root filling at 4 -6 times the cost of a normal filling and possibly the same again to make a crown on top. Get your teeth looked after before they hurt and save yourself money. The old storey a stitch in time saves nine
4. You don’t need to have black fillings
Black metallic fillings are not mandatory. In every case there is a good-looking alternative. Why not call in to get our special FREE amalgam CD to really educate you in this area, or give us a call and we can post one out to you.
5. It is economical to whiten teeth
Tooth whitening really works. In one week, and for a small investment you can have beautifully white teeth. The benefits of a nice smile in social and business situations are enormous. Download our brochure on Sapphire tooth whitening to see how it can all be done within an hour
6. You shouldn’t wait at the dentist
If you expect a typical wait of 15 to 45+ minutes at your dentist, then you are being abused. It is possible for dentists to see you on time, except for an occasional emergency situation—and that’s 95% of the time. If your dentist doesn't respect your time, then find one who does.
7. Dentistry shouldn't be a white-knuckle affair
If you feel discomfort at any time during a dental visit, you have the right to tell the dentist to stop and give you more anaesthetic. Injections and the techniques for giving them have advanced enormously over the years. Don’t be uncomfortable at the dentist!
