Ceramic crowns and veneers are two different cosmetic treatments that can greatly enhance the appearance and longevity of your smile. During a cosmetic consultation with Dr Harris we can make the necessary assessments to determine if you will be a suitable candidate for this treatment.

Ceramic Crowns
Like a cap for the tooth, a ceramic crown can protect teeth that are chipped, broken or heavily restored. It will improve the life span of the tooth, making it highly resistant to further damage or decay. A ceramic crown is an investment, and will protect the tooth for between 15 and 20 years.

Ceramic crowns can completely mask any discolouration or deficiency in the tooth. They can be used to straighten crooked or misshapen teeth very effectively.

Veneers
A veneer is a like a false fingernail for the tooth, and is bonded to the outside surface only. A veneer will do little to strengthen a heavily restored tooth, but can mask minor chips and fillings.

Veneers are mostly used for aesthetic purposes, and can improve the colour and texture of your front teeth. Veneers last from 8 to 15 years, but can demand more regular attention if your bite places excessive forces on them.
